Lightshot Screenshot App Reviews

Works great and super light

Much lighter footprint than Monosnap. App is not on polished on mac as it is for PC - screen flashes when you start to drag the box & I think it may have crashed my machine once or twice - but the crashing can’t be proven (I just don’t leave it running the background any more, which is just as well) and the screen flashing doesn’t bother me as much as having a heavier app would. Also, love how easy / simple it is to save, get a short link, etc.. Wish it would auto-copy a shortlink upon upload and be debugged a little, but other than that no complaints.

Good idea, but not ideal implementation

Very good idea of lightweight screenshoter with sharing functionality. But currently Mac version has few issues: 1) Mulitmonitor configuration in Mavericks don’t work: one screen gets blank during screen capture 2) No login functioality. Windows version has it

Doesn’t work with multiple monitors on Mavericks

When attempting screenshots while using multiple monitors under Mac OS Mavericks, it blacks out all monitors but the one you’re on and brings everything from your primary monitor over to the monitor you’re trying to take the screenshot from. Can be worked around by dragging stuff you want to screenshot onto your primary monitor and screenshotting it from there. Other than that, no complaints. It’s simple to use and exactly what I was hoping for. Would give 5 stars if the multiple-monitors issue (or lacking feature) gets fixed/implemented.

Crashes every time I try to open it

I have a relatively new iMac running Mavericks with all updates, and I’m a geek. This app will simply not open. I’ve installed/uninstalled it five times and each time it crashes upon trying to open. On to something else.

Good so far.

PLEASE add uploading to Twitter support. I hate having to: 1. Save the screenshot to my documents 2. Open up TweetDeck 3. Select the image to my documents 4. Send it Every single time. It may not seem like much, but I upload screenshots to Twitter all the time, and using lightshot with it is cumulatively very time consuming.

Lighshot Review

I really think it amazing as it like the best photo-taking app and works like a pro. Overmore, I think it surely to be a automatic camera.

Doesn’t even work!

Whenever I opened the app, my entire screen went black except for the mouse. I tried to Cmd+Tab to another app or use F3 for Spaces to get out of it, but the screen just stayed solid black. Cmd+Q was the only thing that got me out of it, and obviously that’s not what I want this app to do.

Not working.

I updated my lightshot version and now its not working on my mac, I have the 10.7.5 version. I would love if someone could solve this issue. :(

Avoid

Pro: It’s the prettiest icon in my Launchpad. Con: Thats all it is. Multiple screens just break its brain. When I tried to uninstall it, I couldnt - it was still running even when doing nothing and inaccessable. I finally had to force quit to get rid of it. No thanks!

Screen Keeps Flickering

After highlighting the area to capture the screen starts flickering. Same as I try to annotate the picture.

Printing

They are on the right track but when you select the are to print it prints 6 pages It should have an option to scale to fit

Great app, but...

App needs update for Yosemite and fix for multiple screens!

Doesnt work on OS X Yosemite

Doesnt work on OS X Yosemite (10.10.2). System hungs and doesnt work without reboot.

To the point

It works and is to the point. I saw others having problems with Yosemite, but for me it works with Yosemite (10.10.3). Also works on my second monitor. I have not signed in to use its other features (yet), but all I wanted was a nice icon up top to quickly copy things. It does that and more without being overly complicated. You don’t need to jump through a million buttons.

Ver. 2.15 bug

This update has a bug that prohibits saving! Functions normally, but when I choose to save as a file, the shot disappears. Please fix!!

I’ve used a few, this is the best

Absolutely love this app, the copy feature is genius!!! No one wants to have thousands of screenshot jpegs on their desktop that they actually only needed for maybe 5 seconds. Now I can just copy and paste an image. Saves me time from having to find and delete un needed screenshots and also saves space on my hard drive. Thanks for this app, seriously!

Easy to Use

This is a great screenshot tool! It’s so easy to use and doesn’t cause any headaches when you’re trying to save your image to your computer. I’ve used other Mac apps that have been very difficult to use, but this is the best!

So good

Quick and easy, not much work involved, easy to copy+paste. Use this app everyday!!

Perfect!

Has anything you could possibly need in a screenshot app. Easy to use and find doesn’t have any kind of bugs in it.

Fantastic app - Needs only one thing!

This little app is fantastic and I recommend it heartily. A couple of small requests - wish there was a way to resize the screenshot before saving/sharing/copying. If you use this tool on a macbook pro retina, and you copy part of your screen to copy and paste it into an email, the screenshot looks 4 times larger than it should. This would be very helpful! And one more thing - would be an added benefit if Lightshot remembered the size/position of the last captured rectangle for repeated captures :) Thank you for making this great tool!
